Snapped speedo cable?

Has this happened to anyone? The internal cable snapped in half within the housing. Weird.

Nope, but I melted the crap out of the outer housing where it meets the wheel, the screw came loose and the cable fell out.

I did some searching on the forum, and apparently honda makes an inner cable that should be a nice cheap replacement. Be sure to grease it up first!

Do you know the Honda part #? I'd like to visit the dealer but 50 miles is a long ways to ride without being able to tell your speed haha

I did the same thing melted and came loose on my on the interstate... I have a nice scar from the pipes when I reached down to grab it
