Here it is... The First (and hopefully not the last) Annual Rocker's Roll! We're having a ride and party for all Cafe' Racer, Classic and Vintage motorcycle enthusiasts Saturday, July 31, 2010 from gritty downtown Pittston, PA to Bandit's Roadhouse in Berwick, PA. Here's how it works... We gather in Pittston in the morning, grab a coffee, breakfast at any one of the several cafe/diners on Main Street (yes, there is a large, safe parking area for all, as well as on street if you prefer) and set out in small groups for a ride to Bandits' Roadhouse on Route 11 in Berwick. There are many ways to get there, suggested routes will be provided, the shortest of which is about 30 miles, the longest (suggested) around 80. Other than the directions there will be no traffic control provided - take your ride at your pleasure. Various levels of twistiness and scenery through the hills and along the Susquehanna River will give us all plenty to gab about once we get to Bandits'.

A word about Bandits'... it is a large bar and restaurant that is very motorcycle friendly. Indoor and outdoor areas are available for your eating and drinking pleasure, with a very large and safe parking area. They are pumped about this event.

Music and entertainment for the event starts at 1:00 PM at Bandits' We are planning a 3 place peoples' choice ballot for the most popular bikes ridden at the event - cash prizes! There will be a "Pinup Girl" contest with cash for the most popular Betty Page, Ann Margret, and Marylin Monroe lookalikes... get out the lipstick and push-up bras, ladies. Not to be left out, boys, wear your most outrageous Rocker leather, and you could ride away richer, too.

Another attraction is Bill's Bike Barn, just a mile or so down Route 11. Take some time to check out the collection of vintage bikes (including a 1913 Triumph) and motorcycle memorabilia. Bill has a truly large eclectic collection - almost too much to take in at one visit.

I'll be posting more about this event, including registration information. We will collect a nominal bike registration donation to cover the prizes and our cost for printing, etc. More who register, greater the prize pot.:cheer: The first 100 bikes registered will receive a limited edition, commemorative patch.

Bandits is a great place and don't pass up an opportunity to see Bills Barn. Sadly, we're tied up that weekend, I'd love to see some British iron at Bandits instead of their usual HD diet.
