That's incorrect. '03 T100s had the 790cc motor.

865s didn't come out until '04, and then it was in the Thruxtons.

thats what i thought, theres a guy selling an 03 in Brisbane aus. say its a 865

So after 04 the only model with the 790 was the Bonnie Black?

The T100 didn't get the 865 until 2005. All other Bonnevilles had the 790, standard and black, but not all standards are black. I think it was 2007 when the 790 left the range.

Anyone know the reason for the two different engines in the first place?
And do the 790s really run better

Don't know the reasoning, but the 790 is a revvier engine. Not as much bottom torque as the 865, but a definite power hit at the upper revs.

It's a trick title because ALL Bonneville's have an engine of some sort,while motor's are all electric. Din't your grampa's teech ya nuttin?:chair:

I converted my electric to a flex fuel and didn't like it...
I have since converted the motor to a diesel that I can also run vegetable oil...
I rode from AZ to Canada on 11 gallons of fuel!
Had to pull over every 600 miles at Mickey D's for a fill up...
True story!
