Cams... Dwelling on a question

Do any of you tech weenies know the open dwell of the stock Thruxton cams versus stock Bonneville, versus any number of the "hot cams" out there? Yes, this is leading somewhere if someone would like to help out in a development project....

Inlet camshaft part #T1140950 and Exhaust camshaft part #T1140960 are used in all 865 360 degree engines (Bonneville, Bonneville T100 and Thruxton carbed and EFI models). So basically there is no difference between Bonnie & Thrux OEM cams.

Good luck in getting timing specs of aftermarket cams as they are a closely guarded secret.

TPUSA 813 cams are generally believed to be the best cams out there however there has never been a side by side comparison of the specs with other aftermarket cams that I have ever seen published so this is just word of mouth. The 813's are a reground cam so you need to provide a set of stock cams to be welded and reground (core exchange).

Another alternative is Thunderbike cams, these are a brand new camshaft(s) machined from billet so no core exchange is required however they are more expensive than the 813's.

Just read this info after downloading the 2006 Triumph Service Manual

790 T100 -
In open 22 btdc, close 46abdc (248deg)
Ex open 41 bbdc, close 27atdc (248deg)

865 T100 -
In open 4 btdc, close 48 abdc (232deg)
Ex open 33 bbdc, close 7 atdc (220deg)

Thruxton -
In open 6 btdc, close 50 abdc (235deg)...236?
Ex open 22bbdc, close 8 atdc (221deg)...210?

Scrambler -
In open 8 atdc, close 142 btdc (212deg)...210?
Ex open 142 atdc, close 7 btdc (212deg)...211?

Some of the maths is a bit interesting  but I guess the question is 'where do you get cams out of a 790 T100?'

Edit - all have 1mm lift (so it says)

I think thats a miss print the thurx and all the 360 865 cams are the same and the 790s dont have that much duration and not all the 790 have the same the 01 has the most.I want to say the 01 was 240something and the rest of the 790s are 239.All 865 ARE less.813 has more lift and duration then any of them. The tb cams are close to 01 790 cams i think. The 813 is the only one of the bunch that makes power over 8500 rpm.
