Yellow lights

Has anyone used plastic film to alter the color of a headlight?
I'm considering changing to a yellow headlight.
I think it will make the bike more conspicuous.
The films I'm looking at claim a 90%+ transmission rate. So I'm not sure I want to loss 10% of my lighting.
Any opinions or experience?

Sorry, no direct experience with this topic. However, one thought would be to compensate for the 10% loss, upgrade the lightbulb to an LED, which is much brighter and cooler as well. I've been using automotive LED kit bulbs for several years now with great success. Perhaps something like this: https://www.amazon.com/H4-Headlight-...D+H4+headlight

A yellow led is a good idea if it fits in the light bucket.
Yellow headlights are not legal and I figured if a cop made a stink I could peel the film off

I bought some yellow film on Amazon.
It sticks well but is a bit too much yellow.
I covered only the top half of the headlight.
Maybe this will make the bike more conspicuous without cutting the light output too much.
Now I have to wait for a night ride

After 3000 miles the yellow film has faded and thinned.
I don't know if it kept me safer. No one pulled out in front of me dangerously close but maybe that's just a coincidence.
I didn't notice a decrease in headlight efficiency.
I took it off
The results are inconclusive

I have used a yellow bulb for years. I use a Ford Motorcraft # 48885. It is a direct H-4 60/55 replacement. Color is good and good light ouput. About $20 on Ebay. ...J.D.
