After posting record sales results for the month of January, Triumph has started 2015 as the top selling European brand in North America. These results are based on unit sales in the on-road and dual-sport categories for the U.S. and Canada.

Sales in the United States rose 66% in January over the same period last year. A significant gain by any measure, but the 379% sales growth experienced in Canada over this time period is extraordinary. Triumph even claims its dealers outsold a Japanese competitor in the month of January.

Of those dealers, Southern California Triumph in Brea, California and GP Bikes, Inc., of Whitby, Ontario, have been confirmed as the top retailers in the U.S. and Canada, respectively. Meanwhile, Triumph Manassas, in Manassas, Virginia, is the number one single-line Triumph retailer. Triumph will recognize these three dealers, as well as the six leading regional dealers in the U.S. with advertisement packages in select motorcycle publications, a customized gift and apparel package, and identification on the Triumph consumer website with a special icon.

“Triumph achieved a combined 82 percent increase in year-over-year retail sales in North America in January. This record month for the Hinckley-era Triumph would not be possible without the hard work of our dealers,” said Matt Sheahan, COO of Triumph Motorcycles America. “The results clearly state that Triumph is a growth brand, and consumers continue to be attracted to our distinctive British styling with modern technology on our bikes.”

 Huzzah for Triumph Manassas, not far from my office in Ashburn. I'll have to pay them a little visit this week to congratulate them.

FWIW I found out last week that Royal Enfield sales out sold HD worldwide last year… Trivial trivia…
Tucson Ducati has pre sold 6 scramblers, while other dealers are in the dozens…

That's good news for Triumph and continued success for the company is also good news for owners. I know that it can be quite challenging and expensive to maintain a motorcycle that was built by a company that is no longer in business.

I bought my bike last month from GP Bikes and it's nice to see them successful. It's handy to have the dealership 15 minutes from where i live, especially during the warranty period.

Congrats to Triumph and to GP Bikes.

Thanks for posting the stats Mark. Very cool trivia.

Cheers.
