I'm 62 and have been riding my current 2008 Bonneville since I bought it new the summer of 2008... 8 years. I rode an old Honda 750four for a year before that (2007-2008)... so 9 years total. I've logged close to 70,000 miles. I've had one serious accident where I broke my ankle. Dumped a bike maybe 3 times total. I plan to keep riding until I can't.

Hi Guys,
New here . Almost 63 started riding in the 70ties with BSA , Matchless, Triumph. In between I tasted some japanese gear, but turned back to british steel in 2007. I bought a 2004 Black Bonnie 790 with 13000 km .Now the saddle saw my butt for over 100.000 kms. I will continue riding until they run me through the last exhaust.

I'm 65 and started riding in 1968. Been riding my 08 Bonnie since 2010. I've had many other bikes. I don't plan to stop riding until I can't, even then who knows ?

are there any alternatives for forward controls on Bonneville America models or at least a set of mid position foot rests tha I can stand up un to relieve back trauma over bumps? Also is there a fix for speedometer error- my speed indicated is about 6/8 miles faster than actual mph have 19 tooth front sprocket stock rear but I think speed is signaled from sensor on front wheel-thanks

This kit available from Bellacorse that moves the controls aft: http://bellacorse.com/shop/custom-pa...a-speedmaster/

If the speedo is mechical, then you don't have any recourse. If electronic, then I believe some crafty folks have figured out ways to modify the signal being received in order to correct the meter's output. I'm a carb'ed/mechanical type, so you'll need someone else to explain the electrickery.
