The gap is so heavily patrolled it's just no fun any more. Have fun and try not to get any tickets.

I hear the roads around the gap are almost as much fun?

That is very true - the whole tri-state area of eastern TN, western NC, and northern GA have so many great roads to choose from. Many of them remote and nearly desserted much of the time. Sunday is the worst day simply because everyone is out riding that day. Even our favorite roads in north GA where heavily patrolled this past sunday. But we got in some serious hauling ass on Fri and Sat, and a few bursts here and there on sunday.
