If it's the clutch or throttle cables, I spray some spray lube at the ends, and not very often.
If it's the speedo cable, I pull the core and bathe it in white grease. It's been 4 years and should be looked at again soon. Because this cable runs at high speeds, it flings off light lubes and probably settles low in the casing.
