A little help, bike starts even w thumb switch off

Hello everyone, first thank you for any advice you may have,
OK so,
Rode today no problem, parked the bike on driveway, about an hour ago I went to park bike in garage so I started it up and noticed that I could still hear the starter turning. Shut off bike and try again, now i noticed bike would start in gear w kick stand down. Bike starts now just by turning the key, even if red thumb switch is off! Is this like a starter solenoid issue? Do you know what I'm looking at here? Thanks for any advice.
Bike is an 07 bonneville.

I have very little Triumph experience, but with the BMW "R" bikes, it's common with age to have a sticky starter and it's quite easy to get to it and clean it to solve the problem. My gut feeling is you have an issue in the switch or wiring harness somewhere. Spray some contact cleaner or WD-40 on the start and kill switch areas.
