Not bad eh! Starter no funcionato la machina...ordered a used one for $190.00 and going to get the wore out one rebuilt for $150.00.

Pretty bloody reliable.......

new starter for my 1985 BMW R80 is $179 but it has not broken yet
it has 32000 miles on it
the starter on my T140 is still good after 30+ years
did your starter fail "electricaly" or mechanically?

just don't look up a new starter on bike bandit, you'll shit yourself when you see the price.

yeah, something like $750.00...and it's just a Denso like a Honda's.

I'll strip it down and see what the deal is when I get the starter in.

check for a local rewind shop, auto or industrial
if the windings in the rotor faulted it can be rewound cheaply
if its the bearings its even less
there are no field windings in a starter
did you try spinning it directly; not through the relay? maybe the relay(solenoid) is bad

its crazy to its only a 12 volt motor no drive to it just a gear on end of shaft.I hope yours wasnt spining if the starter motor runs its not in the starter its in the starter clutch.
