    ABS on bikes. What for?

Well, I was expressing a genuine concern but I guess you won't be able to figure that out.

Plastidip - 07 Bonnie with 2014 Scrambler Fenders - Whatcha think?

Might have to try this out on some parts myself. Ya, I've done that. Sit there... beer... Jack Daniels chaser. Sometimes you get some really good ideas and then some not so good ideas.

Plastidip - 07 Bonnie with 2014 Scrambler Fenders - Whatcha think?

I like the idea of the plastidip to test colour ideas out. Hope you find the colour combos you like. I will agree on the gold but I also like a bright yellow. Yellow stripe with a thin pinstripe on each side. Just my thought.

    Story about seals.

I know the tool you are talking about. I have seen it somewhere on the web. It's a very thin plastic hook made from a sheet of plastic and like you said, it seats the seal as it pulls the dirt out from under it. My problem is a bit different. The seals have actually shifted or popped out...

2008 Triumph Scrambler (low pipes) NC

Wow! Unbelievable that this bike has not sold yet. Here's a thought. Take it off any local listings you might have for two weeks. Relist it at $7500.00 with the stock stuff and see what happens. Maybe people are thinking, "There's got to be something wrong with such a low price." It's that time...

    I'm through with Bonnevilles

Are you referring to those gaily coloured Bonnevilles from a while back? If so, those were an assault on the eyes.

    Story about seals.

That's fortunate. My guess is that the wheel seals are just more common. I need to figure out who manufactures the Bonneville forks if I want to try and pursue this any more.

    Story about seals.

Had some time to head over to 'my favourite bearing supply house' to talk with the two old hands that have probably been there since engines were first put into wagons. The first thing one of them said when they saw the seals was, "That's proprietary. Don't think we can get that". Sure...

    Story about seals.

A seal walks into a club... ^Canadian joke. My fork seals are weeping like mad and with spring riding, the dirt and grit on the bike sure shows the oil seepage. I decided to pick up some oil and dust seals so that I can redo the front forks. I hit a couple of bad potholes and that didn't...

    ABS on bikes. What for?

Hi DKH. Didn't see you sneak in there. Welcome to the forum. I have seen a few videos showing how good ABS is over no ABS. Still doesn't convince me that ABS is something I need. Your instructor might have a different view about ABS now. It would seem that your instructor emphasized to you...

    Engine Removal Project

Well. I gotta say, I was not expecting that. This does not sound good at all. My worst guess is that your case halves were distorted to the point of bending the crankshaft when it is all torqued down again. That does not bode well for the Triumph. Now on the other hand, that 2014 Honda is an...

    T100 Tires

Those Metzelers are really nice looking. Might have to sell the ME880s I have sitting here :D Looking forward to seeing some reviews on those tires. http://www.mynetmoto.com/motorradreifen_news_details.cfm/moto_news/875/metzeler_sportec_klassik__%28_classic_%29.html

    William Dunlop and Guy Martin

 Well, seriously, enjoy the event. I hope you get a good spot and the weather is all round good. Still three weeks away. Take some pictures if you can and send a couple our way. Have fun :)

    William Dunlop and Guy Martin

Ya. Your face is not supposed to be a shop rag. He has indicated that but it looks like he will take another run at the TT on the BMW.

    T100 Tires

Hi Doc. mtnbandit's bike is a T100. It doesn't have mag wheels but uses spoked wheels. I know that some people have used silicon or some sort of rubber compound to seal the spokes so that they can mount tubeless tires and not need to use a tube. For myself, I don't think that is a very good...

    William Dunlop and Guy Martin

John McGuinness will be on a Honda Racing Fireblade. Damn, that is so freaking great. Getting all excited here and can't even watch it. I really wish they would cover these races on TV here in North America. The races don't even rate a mention. I'm not sure but I think that Guy is only on a...

    William Dunlop and Guy Martin

This will be interesting. Michael Dunlop will be riding Yamaha this year. William and Guy on the Tyco BMWs. Wish I could be at some of these races. http://www.crash.net/road-racing/news/215391/1/martin-and-dunlop-make-tyco-bmw-debuts-at-almeria.html

    T100 Tires

I have a set of Metzeler ME880 tires that I will mount and balance hopefully in the next week or two. I have Michelin tubes for them as well. No off-shore crap for me. There is no problem with mounting tubes in a tubeless tire. Make sure to talc the inside of the tire and the tube when mounting...

    Exhaust and Viper Red ride

That's good to hear. The wayyy over build part is evident any time I have to push my bike over grass. :D And it sounds like you were aware that punching holes in the swingarm might weaken it. If it survived what you described, then it really is over built. I have a couple other questions but...

    Exhaust and Viper Red ride

Hawt dawg LMT. I like the details on the engine build. Some good stuff in there. Here's hoping that the SuperTrapp solves your mid range problem. The bike is looking real good. I am just a little concerned with the lightening holes in your swingarm. I would be worried about being in a...

    Engine Removal Project

Hedge, that is something I was not expecting. I haven't heard of a factory bore being so out of spec that it binds up the bearings. What mikenva was saying totally makes sense though. Sounds like your engine hit the factory mill around quitting time on a Friday. At least you have your engine...
