2004 Bonneville Cafe Racer Project Bike

I purchased a few parts from Denverdave and have installed them on the project bike. One is the Triumph Skid Plate and the other was a dresser rail that was painted black. I wire brushed the paint off to achieve a dulled, brushed metal look (like the rest of the bike) and installed it. Looks great!

2004 Bonneville Cafe Racer Project Bike

I've made a lot of progress and am now waiting for additional parts to arrive. Most recently I mounted new Sun alloy rims built by Buchanan Spokes, with new Avon Roadrider tires. I reupholstered the seat with a diamond stitch design cover. The rear fender I bought at a swap meet for $20 and...

WTB: black grab rail for 2015 T100

Denverdave, I am most interested in part #3 in both chrome and black. Not much interested in the one in your photo... rather the dresser bar that remains horizontal and goes around the back of the seat... see photo.

WTB: black grab rail for 2015 T100

Denverdave - I want to be clear on what you have, because I may be interested if bschwinn isn't. Attached is the parts list and an image from BikeBandit on what I think you have (2016 Black Grab Rail). Can you clarify if you have all of this, or just some of it... and at what price you would...

    Triumph Comfort Seat New

Cool! I discovered that you can buy seat covers from British Customs and basically recover your existing seat with something nicer. I purchased this one for a Project Bike (2004 Bonneville) I am currently working on...

2004 Bonneville Cafe Racer Project Bike

I purchased a used 2004 Bonneville from Team Power Center in Janesville, Wisconsin on December 26, 2018. I plan to modify it into a sweet cafe racer as my Project Bike #3. You can follow my progress on my blog site at https://triumphbonneville.org/project/2004-bonneville/ So far I plan to strip...

How to: change oil and check tire pressures

Most of the torque settings you need to know for your new bike will be in the owners manual. If one setting, in particular, isn't, a quick web search should answer your question. I invested in the Triumph Factory Shop Manual for my 2008 Bonneville, and it has literally everything in it! You can...

    Tank Badges

The dealer should have included the original tank badges as well since you paid for them as a part of the original T120. I would ask for them to be sent to you as well.

    New Bonneville owner from TX

Welcome, Kenneth! Looks like you picked up a nice Bobber! Personally, I always look for a good used bike over new ones to get much more value per dollar. I think the place to start on modifications is to think about what kind of riding you will do, and what your personal design sensibilities...

    Blowing fuse and Oil weep

Thanks for the update. I'm very interested to learn what the source of this issue turns out to be!

First time working through a dealer. Also first Triumph.

I don't know where you live, but I would recommend that you consider a used Triumph Bonneville. You will generally get more for your money and still get a very reliable, fun and cool bike. The Street Cup is nice, but it is based on the newer liquid-cooled engine design which is more complex and...

Thanks for the update... keep up the good work! I hope you don't end up inspecting and re-wrapping the entire loom only to discover it was the regulator/rectifier or some other component!

    Blowing fuse and Oil weep

I used some stuff I picked up at Harbor Freight Tools store called "liquid tape" which is essentially a liquid rubber that you can paint on like glue, and it dries to a flexible rubber/plastic coating. I use the heat shrink stuff on most everything, but in this case there was no way to slip the...

    Blowing fuse and Oil weep

FYI - I had to repair the wiring harness between my instrument panel and ignition switch on my 2008 Bonneville. Here is an article I posted about that. https://triumphbonneville.org/cracked-ignition-wiring-repair/

    Blowing fuse and Oil weep

First, I don't think you have a 2008 if it is EFI... 2008's were still carbureted... and I have one. Probably a 2009. I agree with qwenzel that you need to check your wiring harness for a short... especially in places where the wires can move and can wear away the shielding. The valve covers...
