A guy I work with came up the other day and said "Hey you like old bikes right ... Would you mind taking a couple off my hands"? He then proceeds to give me two complete 1979 Yamaha xs1100 specials.

They don't run and have been sitting in a shed for almost 20 years but the engines are not seized up (although everything else is). I'm thinking it's time to build that bobber I've always wanted .......

nothing wrong with that! take all the best parts to use and sell the others on ebay or craigslist to finance the parts you need.

I had an XS11 back in the mid 80's. It was a bad ass muscle bike with 4 into 1 black kerker headers.

Those shafties make some clean customs. Start takin' shit off, chop the excess (xs?) frame rails under the seat, black wheels, black forks, new custom seat, 4-1 pipes and enjoy!

The 1982 had some damn nice lines...

Check out these bratstyle 650's! Wonder if the 1100 would take to this
style of customizing, or if it'd be a little too big & bulky...
