EFI mag wheel Bonneville (2013) startup problems

I agree it sounds like an intermittent electrical contact somewhere. I'd also spray some contact cleaner or WD-40 in/behind the start switch. Like BonnieBlack said- be sure the battery cables are tight on the battery. I've found them loose on a few bikes through the years. I once was so...

A little help, bike starts even w thumb switch off

I have very little Triumph experience, but with the BMW "R" bikes, it's common with age to have a sticky starter and it's quite easy to get to it and clean it to solve the problem. Hello from the snowy Sierra

Go for the newest model year lowest mileage you can afford. Less potential for problems. I agree that EFI will be better for you if you're riding in varying elevations. I'm so smitten with the new Bonneville, I just cleared out my garage (sold a Honda and a BMW) and just bought two 2014...

Yeah, that has to be some years back. Before every 20yr old girl wanted a Kardashian rear end!

    Time to quit?

Still need to be careful even with temps a bit above freezing. Like kdharri mentioned, ice can be in shaded areas even if the temp is 39°. I believe that is the temp that CHP parks their bikes for that reason.
