The Venturi effect that allows your carbs to work also causes a temperature drop. I don't know by how much, but at 5 C you're probably too close to comfort with icing up your carbs. I'd rather have em and not need em myself. Better than getting stranded on a winter night...

Glad I could help confuse the situation by letting you test the CDI on my Bonnie. Since it appears to be working, and your battery is less than a year old, I'm thinking it's the charging system. Hope it gets fixed while the weather is still nice.

Isn't this why almost everyone on this forum has bought an aftermarket exhaust, upgraded the suspension, removed the airbox, bobbed or removed a fender, etc. Point is I don't think it's such a controversial thought; we pretty much all feel in some way that Triumph has dropped the ball on a high...

Both of my clevis bolts broke within about 5000 (25k and 30k) miles of each other. I'll keep a closer eye on the torque, but at about $20 a pop I think I'll replace them when they approach the same mileage rather than risk a high speed (unexpected) break. I'd rather spend a few bucks on extra...

And so begins the endless cycle of customization... The great thing about these bikes is that there's so many performance and styling options out there to make them your own. The downside is that there's so many parts and options out there to make them your own.
